For
over fifteen years I've been researching the shoes that can help people
with plantar fasciitis. I've dealt with plantar fasciitis as a
patient, and I've beaten it more than once. Here I share my experiences
and what I've learned. I also discuss other products I've used and the
various therapies that can be done at home.
You
won't find generic information here. It's all my life and my opinions.
I'm no healthcare professional, so if you're looking for generic,
official health advice on plantar fasciitis, my favorite place to go is
here,
the National Institutes of Health's and the U.S. Library of Medicine's
MedLine Plus page. It has excellent, authoritative advice and has lots
of information you should know if you have PF. I also encourage you to
search PubMed for the latest medical research on plantar fasciitis.
What
this site is about is helping you learn about the actual footwear that
has helped real people. In my experience, doctors don't have any
specific recommendations regarding brands or models of footwear for this
kind of heel pain. Your experience might be different. What they do
have is general guidelines. "Good arch support," they say. "Good
cushioning." "Correct motion control for your particular feet." "Try
orthotics." After seeing the doctor and getting diagnosed with plantar
fasciitis, many people want to know what shoes have worked for what
feet.
That's why I wrote about what I've been through here. To explore my experiences with footwear for plantar fasciitis, check out My Posts linked to in the sidebar or you can start with the page, How I Got Rid of Plantar Fasciitis.
Thanks
for visiting! And if you have any questions or are willing to share
your own experiences with this painful disease (and yes, it's classified
as a disease, not just a sports injury), don't forget to leave a
comment.
